PRACTICE YOGA IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME
2020 saw so many companies and organizations take their business online, offering new ways of engaging and providing services that would typically only be received in person, prior to the pandemic. With so many yoga studios shutting down or reducing their offerings and limiting class sizes, more and more people have taken their yoga practice online. While it might require a bit of adjustment, it truly is a lovely way to practice; instructors really don't have to provide corrections with physical touch - students are empowered to discover the subtle adjustments for themselves with the assistance of verbal queues, and there's no pressure to "perform" for a room full of other yogis.
You might know by now that I'm a huge fan and advocate of home yoga practice, so I've created some different options and tools to help you build and maintain your personalized yoga routine, right in the comfort of your own home.

Yoga for Athletes
Hips & Shoulders
This video is the first instalment in my new Yoga for Athletes series! It's a gentle, full-body practice with a focus on opening through the hips and shoulders.
In working with athletes and fitness lovers over the past couple of years, I've noticed a common theme; those who maintain a strength training regimen almost always experience more discomfort in the shoulders and hips.
I started a new fitness routine myself just over a week ago, and I've been dealing with a lot more muscle tension and all-over stiffness, with the most restriction within my shoulders and hips. This experience has enabled me to connect to my body even more deeply, and I've adjusted my yoga practice in order to support my overall health and wellness even more. This sequence is a pretty accurate representation of my current yoga practice: slow, controlled movement with longer holds and a greater focus on flexibility than strength.
PROPS: Optional ~ 1 or 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap, pillow
LEVEL: Beginner ~ suitable for all levels!

Standing Splits Tutorial
If you've been following me on Instagram (@saraspondayoga) you probably already know how much I love Standing Splits! I find this to be one of those postures that trips people up more in theory than in practice, so I wanted to create a video tutorial in order to break down some of the things that worked best for me in learning this asana.
Which asanas or movements would you like me to create a tutorial for?
*Remember: falling is okay and normal and good: what's important is that you pick yourself up and try again.*
