When I first came across FRÉ Skincare on Instagram sometime last year, I was intrigued, but skeptical. The brand was being advertised as "the first skincare range for women who work out, formulated for skin that sweats," and of course, I fall into that category.
For years, I had been searching for a skincare line that catered to active/sweaty people and was also vegan and cruelty-free; when I practiced Bikram Yoga regularly, finding hydrating skincare that wouldn't sweat off and clog my pores was an endless journey, and I was never fully satisfied with the many products I tried. Years later, I was still having the same struggle: enter FRÉ.
My first impression when I received my 123FRÉ set in the mail was that this is a company who truly lives the values they claim. The gorgeous kit was totally space-effective (which means less waste in production), and every item had been created and packed with the utmost care.
The set includes a little booklet with more information on the products and the company, as well as exactly when and how to use each item. It also comes with a cute canvas tote to make bringing this skincare with you to the studio or gym totally easy and mess-free.
So it all looks great - but does it work?!
I have dry/combination skin and I suffer from both hormonal and sweat-related breakouts. I began using Fré just over three months ago, and I made this my exclusive product line to ensure I was accurately assessing the results. This is what I've found:
Beyond those benefits, I'm thrilled to support an environmentally-conscious brand that truly gives back; for every 123FRÉ set sold, FRÉ will plant an Argan tree, also known as the "Tree of Life", to help replenish the endangered Argan forest and support women who harvest Argan oil in Morocco. Planting Argan trees has a multi-layered impact by creating sustainable development, protecting the planet and empowering women.
Is it affordable?
The three-step set costs just under $150 CAD, which makes each product about $50. If that sounds like a lot, don't panic: I have some good news!
First of all, this product really does last as long as they claim, which would make your entire skincare routine cost only around $1.60 per day (if you're here in the Great White North with me).
Did I mention the line is totally vegan and cruelty-free?! I believe that we vote and make an impact in the way we choose to spend our money, and I will only purchase products that are friendly to animals and the environment. You can feel really good about this purchase, and your skin will thank you, too.
